Mayor Becky Pearson
Mayor - 845-401-6904
Becky has called Walden home for over 68 years. She and Mike have been married for 47 years and have two sons, two beautiful Daughter-in-Laws and three awesome grandchildren. She has a Physical Therapy Assisting Degree and worked in that field until she had her children. Becky has since had a long-lasting career as a manager/buyer/decorator at Millspaugh Furniture. A rewarding job that has been a service to many.
In 2005, dissatisfied with the direction of the Village board, she was elected Walden’s Mayor for two terms. During her tenure, some of her accomplishments were: helping secure funding to finalize the Walden Rail trail and worked with Walden Rotary to build the bandstand at Wooster’s Grove which is used every year for Community Council’s summer “Music in the Grove“ series. Arbor day was instituted 19 years ago and is still a successful educational tool for the local elementary school which has made Walden a Tree city that opens up funding for our village. As Mayor she helped secure the property from the state which is now the home of Veterans Memorial Park and where Walden Community Council holds the annual Flag Day and Veterans Day ceremonies for the past 14 years.
Becky has given back to her community by sitting on the Walden Zoning board for the past 10 years, seven of them being the chairperson. She has served as a Village Trustee from 2022-2025 before running again for Mayor. A long-time member of the Walden Historical Society, where her grandmother was a founding member. She is also a long-standing member of Walden Community Council, a volunteer organization that among many things, helps beautify the village and raises money to give scholarships to high school seniors who have given back to their communities.
In her free time, she loves to garden even though she does not have her parents’ green thumbs. She volunteers where needed. Hiking is a passion. Becky loves to hunt for antiques but her most favorite treasures are her Grandchildren, twins – Nick and Sam and their cousin Theodore. They are the apple of her eye.

Gerald Mishk, Jr
Trustee
I have lived in the Village of Walden for 41 years. My wife, Eileen, and I raised our two children here in the Village, and they both are raising their children here. I have a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Labor Relations. I worked for the Middletown Police department for 27 years and I retired as Detective Sergeant. I also was a carpenter for most of my adult life working on many commercial projects. I was a Village Trustee from 2013 through 2017 and then Village Judge from 2017 through 2021.
I have always tried to help others doing volunteer work. I am a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 9254 and a member of the American Legion Post 912. I helped build the sets for the Valley Central High School Musicals, helped renovate the first Honor Flight office, and was Vice President of Walden Little League for one year when my children were playing ball.
Throughout my extensive tenure residing in the Village of Walden, I have cultivated a profound appreciation for the community’s sense of unity and collective purpose. It is my steadfast belief that through collaborative efforts, we can achieve remarkable progress and foster an environment conducive to the flourishing of future generations. My unwavering commitment to public service and volunteerism has been fueled by the aspiration to reciprocate the generosity of the Village that has been integral to my family’s life. As I look ahead, I am dedicated to furthering the support and enhancement of our Village by participating in impactful initiatives and promoting a spirit of unity and cooperation among its residents.
