NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Village Board of Trustees of the Village of Walden, Orange County, New York proposes a local law to override the limit on the amount of real property taxes that may be levied by the Village and to allow the Village Board to adopt a budget for the 2025-2026 fiscal year that requires a real property tax levy in excess of the “tax levy limit” as defined by General Municipal Law §3-c. A copy of the proposed local law is on file in the office of the Village Clerk, Municipal Square of said Village where it is available for inspection by any interested person during office hours or online at the Village’s website https://villageofwaldenny.gov/government/legislation
FURTHER NOTICE is hereby given that the Board of Trustees of the Village of Walden shall conduct a public hearing at the Municipal Building, One Municipal Square in said Village at 6:00pm or shortly thereafter on April 28, 2025 on proposed Local Law No. 4 of the Year 2025 entitled “A Local Law to Override the Tax Levy Limit Established in General Municipal Law §3-c”.
The Village Board of Trustees will at the above place, time, and date hear all persons interested in the subject matter hereof. Persons may appear in person or by agent. All written communications addressed to the Board of Trustees must be received by the Board at or prior to the public hearing.
The Village of Walden will make every effort to assure that the Public Hearing is accessible to persons with disabilities. Anyone requiring special assistance and/or accommodations should contact the Village Clerk.
